Tenants will be able to post feedback on their landlord on the internet as part of a series of measures announced to improve the private rented sector.

The Government plans to set up a new website, similar to TripAdvisor, where tenants can post their thoughts on their landlord and their property.

Additionally, plans were set out before Parliament to make it a legal requirement for all tenancies to be in writing, to ensure that tenants are fully understand their rights from the outset.

It also plans to set up a new housing hotline offering advice to tenants who are having problems with their landlord, which should be up and running this summer.
